Chiang Mai draws slow-travel crowds, digital nomads, and festival visitors who still arrive on the same tight afternoon immigration banks as everyone else. CNX is walkable compared with BKK, but "compact" does not mean "empty" when three international flights land together.

Samui (USM) is an open-air, island-scale airport. Queues can still stretch when Bangkok and Singapore banks converge on a Friday evening. The good news: list pricing here matches Suvarnabhumi at ฿3,500 per person per leg (฿6,000 combo).
Arrival and departure both include porter in the base rate. You can add lounge on departure for ฿2,500 per person at checkout. For villa guests and honeymoon arrivals, that first calm walk to the kerb sets the tone for the whole week.
